Quran is designed to insert selected Quran text and translations into the current Microsoft Word document. The add-in does not require an account and does not ask users to submit personal information.
The Quran add-in does not collect, store, sell, or share document content or personal account data. It does not collect names, email addresses, Microsoft account identifiers, tenant identifiers, document content, selected text, or Quran verse text.
The add-in uses Microsoft Azure Application Insights for basic operational telemetry. This is limited to simple usage and reliability events, such as opening the task pane, inserting a verse, inserting the Basmala, enabling a translation, or an insertion failure. Telemetry uses coarse properties only, such as translation language, translation placement, Word host platform, and verse-count bucket. It does not include the selected Surah, ayah numbers, inserted Quran text, translation text, or document text. Azure may also process standard technical telemetry metadata required to deliver the event, such as event timestamp and client environment.
The add-in loads static Quran text, translation, font, icon, and help resources from the hosted add-in site so the task pane can function. These resources are application files and are not user-specific.
The add-in uses Microsoft Office.js to insert the selected Quran verses and optional translations into the current Microsoft Word document. This processing happens locally within the user's Microsoft Word environment. The add-in does not send document content or selected text to SVIO servers, and SVIO does not store a copy of the user's document or inserted text.
The add-in requests the Microsoft Office ReadWriteDocument permission because it must insert Quran text, translations, and source references into the active Word document when the user chooses to do so. The permission is used only for this document insertion functionality.
The task pane follows the active Microsoft Word light or dark theme. It does not store a separate appearance preference.
